Softball series against Texas-Permian Basin moved due to rain

OKLAHOMA CITY (April 4, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian’s Heartland Conference softball series against Texas-Permian Basin has been moved to UTPB because of persistent rain in Oklahoma City the past two days, OC coach Tom Heath said Thursday.

According to the Oklahoma Mesonet, about 2.2 inches of rain have fallen in north Oklahoma City since Monday night, leaving the field at Edmond North High School – one of OC’s alternative home fields this season – unplayable. The fields at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium, where the Lady Eagles have played some of their home games, are booked for the weekend and unavailable.

OC (16-14) had been set to host a doubleheader against UTPB (8-27) on Friday and a single game on Saturday. With the series shifted to Odessa, Texas, the games now will be at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday and at noon on Sunday.

UTPB will play at OC next season instead of hosting the Lady Eagles, Heath said.
