OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 5, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian’s late-season surge resulted in a national honor on Tuesday for one of the Lady Eagles.

Addie Ryan, a senior defender-midfielder from Edmond, was named as the National Christian College Athletic Association women’s soccer offensive student-athlete of the week for her performance from Oct. 28-Nov. 3.

Ryan assisted on OC's first goal, hitting a booming free kick from 45 yards out, in a 2-0 win over Newman (Kan.) that snapped an eight-game winless streak for the Lady Eagles on Oct. 28.

OC then went on the road in Heartland Conference play and the versatile Ryan – who hadn't scored a goal all season – had two in a 3-0 win at Texas-Permian Basin, playing all over the field from her primarily defensive position.

The Lady Eagles won consecutive games and posted consecutive shutouts for the first time since the 2009 season and Ryan posted her first multiple-goal game since early in 2009, her freshman season.

Ryan won a player-of-the-week award for the second time this season. In early October, she was named as the Heartland Conference’s defensive player of the week.

The Lady Eagles wrapped up their season on Monday with a 1-0 overtime loss at conference heavyweight Lubbock Christian (Texas).
