ROSWELL, Ga. (June 5, 2014) – Oklahoma Christian standout Audrey Meisch has been chosen to play in a prestigious invitation-only collegiate golf event.

Meisch, a rising junior from Andover, Kan., will participate in the Judson Collegiate & Legends Pro-Am Challenge, set for June 26-30 at the County Club of Roswell. The tournament is hosted by Rosie Jones, who played on the LPGA Tour for 25 years and won 13 events and also is former captain of the U.S. Solheim Cup team.

Invitations to play in the tournament were issued to top-ranked players from NCAA Divisions I, II and III as well as special invitees. The event, which includes 60 top collegiate players, counts for the purposes of the World Amateur Golf Rankings.

Meisch – who posted her first collegiate win last fall in the Hawks Creek Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas – is the only player from an Oklahoma school, and the only player from a Heartland Conference team, that is scheduled to play in the tournament. She finished her sophomore campaign 57th in stroke average among NCAA Division II players at 77.48.

On the first day of the collegiate competition on June 28, groups of two collegiate players and a former LPGA “Legend” will be grouped together to play in the first round. Former LPGA players scheduled to participate include Amy Alcott, Pat Bradley, Nancy Lopez, Liselotte Neumann, Nancy Scranton, Val Skinner, Hollis Stacy, Jan Stephenson and several others.

On June 29-30, collegiate players will play in the final two rounds of the individual stroke-play competition.

“This is a really big deal,” OC coach Greg Lynn said. “It’s quite an honor for Audrey to be able to play in this event. I know she’ll represent OC and her team well.”
