Meisch improves score on 2nd day of Judson Collegiate tournament
ROSWELL, Ga. (June 29, 2014) – Oklahoma Christian’s Audrey Meisch improved during the second round of the Judson Collegiate & Legends Pro-Am Challenge on Sunday, firing an 80 to remain to maintain her position in the invitation-only golf tournament.
Meisch, a rising junior from Wichita, Kan., recorded her first birdie of the tournament, doing so on the par-5 No. 6 hole at the Country Club of Roswell. The par-71, 6,300-yard course again proved challenging for most of the 59-woman field, as all but 16 players stood at 10-over-par or higher.
After two rounds, Meisch – who shot an 82 on Saturday – was at 20-over, tied for 46th. The final round is scheduled to be played Monday.
The tournament is being hosted by Rosie Jones, who played on the LPGA Tour for 25 years and won 13 events and also is former captain of the U.S. Solheim Cup team.
Invitations to play in the tournament were issued to top-ranked players from NCAA Divisions I, II and III as well as special invitees. Meisch was the only player from an Oklahoma university and the only player from a Heartland Conference school selected to play.
