AVONDALE, Ariz. (Sept. 23,2013) – Sophomore Audrey Meisch was tied for third after the first round of the Western New Mexico University Fall Invitational on Monday, leading Oklahoma Christian into a tie for second entering the final round.

Meisch fired a 2-over-par 74 on the 5,995-yard layout at Coldwater Golf Club, putting her four shots behind the leader, Kristen Hansen of Western Washington.

Hansen and Anna Bourland, who shot a 73, helped Western Washington post a team score of 302, six shots ahead of OC and Northeastern State. Academy of Art (Calif.) was another six shots back, in fourth place in the 18-team tournament.

Meisch, who was the medalist in the season-opening Hawks Creek Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas, was OC’s only player in the top 10, although freshman Allison Sell was close, standing in a tie for 11th after shooting a 76.

Anna Arrese Cortadellas fired a 77 and was tied for 16th. A pair of freshmen, India Matthews and Dana Todd, each shot an 81 for the Lady Eagles and were tied for 36th in the 92-woman field.
