LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 27, 2013) – Six Oklahoma Christian softball players have been honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches’ Association for their academic success during the 2012-13 school year.

The NFCA honored Danielle Collins, Kendra Pierce, Lindsy Moore, Michelle Miller, Monique Elliott and Sarah Peoples (Endres) as All-America Scholar-Athletes and also named the Lady Eagles as an All-Academic Team in NCAA Division II.

The Scholar-Athlete awards are given to any player who posted a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the 2012-13 academic year. Miller, a sports, wellness and recreation management major, and Peoples, a mass communications-public relations/advertising major, each had a perfect 4.0 GPA during 2012-13.

Elliott had a 3.829 GPA in sports, wellness and recreation management, while Collins had a 3.765 GPA in biology. Pierce had a 3.742 GPA in sports, wellness and recreation management and Moore had a 3.639 GPA in interdisciplinary studies.

As a team, the Lady Eagles posted a 3.281 GPA for the academic year, ranking 42nd among Division II programs.
