Hoheisel named as NCCAA Scholar-Athlete for women’s cross country

CEDARVILLE, Ohio (Nov. 17, 2013) – Oklahoma Christian cross country runner Tavia Hoheisel has been named as a National Christian College Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete.

Hoheisel and other NCCAA Scholar-Athletes were honored Saturday after the completion of the NCCAA Championship race at Cedarville University.

To qualify for the award, a runner must be at least a junior academically and have a grade-point average of at least 3.4 on a 4.0 scale.

Hoheisel, a junior from Newton, Kan., has a 3.71 GPA in elementary education. She also was named as a NCCAA Scholar-Athlete for outdoor track last spring.

She helped the Lady Eagles earn NCCAA Scholar-Athlete status in 2012.
