OKLAHOMA CITY (Sept. 24, 2013) – For the ninth time in her stellar career at Oklahoma Christian, women’s golfer Anna Arrese Cortadellas has received a national weekly award.

The National Christian College Athletic Association on Tuesday named the junior from Barcelona, Spain, as its student-athlete of the week, honoring her for her play last week in the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic at Lincoln Park Golf Club’s West Course in Oklahoma City.

Arrese Cortadellas twice was named as the NAIA player of the week during her freshman campaign in spring 2012, then captured the NCCAA award six times as a sophomore in 2012-13. No other OC student-athlete ever has won more than three national player-of-the-week honors, either from the NAIA or NCCAA.

She shot an even-par 72 in the final round on the 6,004-yard layout at Lincoln Park West last Tuesday to finish the three-round tournament at even-par 216, two shots behind the medalist, Lina Aguillon of Redlands Community College. She led the Lady Eagles to a third-place team finish.

Entering this week, Arrese Cortadellas was a remarkable 18-for-18 in top-10 finishes during her career at OC.
