ABILENE, Texas (Oct. 10, 2013) – Estefania Bermudez Delgado scored early in the game for Oklahoma Christian and the visiting Lady Eagles managed a 1-1 tie on Monday afternoon against McMurry (Texas) at Wilford Moore Stadium.

OC (2-6-2, 0-1-1 Heartland Conference) took the lead in the 14th minute, when Bermudez Delgado scored her third goal of the season, coming on an assist from Addie Ryan.

McMurry (3-4-1, 0-1-1) equalized in the 63rd minute, as Aleria Luna converted a penalty kick after the Lady Eagles were called for a foul in the penalty box.

But neither team could break through during the final 27-plus minutes of regulation or two 10-minute overtimes. The tie was the second in two weeks for OC, which finished in a 1-1 deadlock on Sept. 23 against St. Gregory’s.

In an indication of the closeness of the game, OC and McMurry each took 11 shots on goal. OC goalkeeper Lindsey Williams went the distance and made six saves, while her counterpart for the War Hawks, Anissa Arenas, made five saves.

The Lady Eagles will wrap up nonconference play on Saturday night at Texas A&M-Commerce.
