JOPLIN, Mo. (Jan. 10, 2014) – Senior Andrea Dennis posted a top-10 finish in the 200 meters to highlight Oklahoma Christian’s results on Friday on the opening day of the Missouri Southern Indoor Invitational.

Dennis led a five-woman contingent for the Lady Eagles in the 200, taking 10th with a time of 27.49 seconds. Fellow senior Somer Helms was 14th in the 30-woman field in 27.92 seconds, followed by Rebecca Bloodworth (16th in 28.17 seconds), Wilmina Gley (20th in 28.55 seconds) and Jerisha Fields (28th in 29.61 seconds).

The only other event in which OC had competitors on Friday was the weight throw. Freshman Miranda Ostlund was 15th among 21 women with a throw of 40 feet, 7¾ inches (12.39 meters) while junior Katie Ostlund was 18th with a throw of 39 feet, 2¼ inches (11.94 meters).

The meet will continue tomorrow.
