Brown, Wallace, Marshall post top-10 finishes at Missouri Southern
JOPLIN, Mo. (Dec. 8, 2012) – Larry Brown had a pair of top-10 finishes and Austin Wallace and Tracy Marshall also contributed top-10 efforts as Oklahoma Christian opened its indoor track and field season Saturday at the Missouri Southern Early Bird Open.
Brown finished sixth among 22 competitors in the weight throw with a mark of 48 feet, 11¾ inches and was 10th among 25 competitors in the shot put with a heave of 40 feet, 11 inches.
Wallace was fifth out of seven competitors in the high jump with a mark of 6 feet, ½ inch. He also competed in three other events, taking 18th in the shot put (37-4), 11th in the 60-meter hurdles (8.94 seconds) and 13th in the 400-meter dash (53.86 seconds).
Marshall competed in the long jump and 60-meter dash. He was seventh among 20 competitors in the long jump with a leap of 22 feet, 10 inches, and took 21st with a 7.37-second effort in the 60 meters.
Adam Zolman and Connor Lankford also competed in multiple events for the Eagles. Zolman tied for 16th in the pole vault (13 feet, 2½ inches) and was 25th in the 60 meters (7.58 seconds), while Lankford was 17th in the weight throw (37-8¾) and 19th in the shot put (37-2¼).
The first indoor meet for most of the rest of the Eagles will be Jan. 11-12, also at Missouri Southern.
