BRIDGE CREEK, Okla. (April 21, 2014) – Hope Dawkins, who starred for Bridge Creek High School and made the Class 4A coaches’ All-State team as a senior, has signed a letter of intent to play women’s basketball at Oklahoma Christian, OC coach Stephanie Findley said Monday.

Dawkins, a 6-foot-2 center, averaged 13.1 points per game for the Bobcats. In addition to making the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association Middle West All-State squad, she received honorable mention on The Oklahoman’s Class 4A All-State team.

Dawkins also has received honorable mention on The Oklahoman’s Little All-City squad each of the past three seasons.

“Hope is a versatile player who passes well, has a nice shot and has uncanny timing for blocking shots,” OC coach Stephanie Findley said. “One of the things I like most about her is her enthusiastic communication on the court.”

At Bridge Creek, she played for a former OC basketball and soccer player, Hope Heinen, who serves as the Bobcats’ assistant hoops coach.

OC is in the second year of the three-year NCAA Division II membership process and is a full member of the Heartland Conference. The Lady Eagles went 19-12 last season and finished fifth in the National Christian College Athletic Association Championship after winning their second straight NCCAA Central Region title.
