KELLER, Texas (Feb. 12, 2013) – Amanda Cooper, a standout defender from Keller, Texas, has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Oklahoma Christian  in 2013, OC coach Randall Robison said Tuesday.

The 5-foot-10 Cooper played for Keller High School for four seasons, scoring five goals and adding five assists from her defensive position. She’s also played for the Dallas Sting West Blue ’95 club team since 2010.

“Amanda is an athletic defender,” Robison said. “She reads the game very well and stays composed in the back. Amanda will certainly be a part of an improved back line.”

Cooper helped Keller post a 16-2-6 record and reach a Class 5A bi-district title game this past season. In club soccer, she helped her team reach the quarterfinals of the Texas Cup in 2010.

Outside of soccer, Cooper was a member of her high school’s National Honor Society and Circle of Friends chapters and served as a volunteer with Special Olympics.
