Oklahoma Christian University has been accepted into the membership process for NCAA Division II and competes in the NCAA’s Heartland Conference and in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA), which provides postseason opportunities during the NCAA Division II membership process.
More than 250 student-athletes participate in 12 sports, including baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, and track and field.
OC is the reigning NCCAA champion in men’s golf and men’s cross country. Before entering NCAA Division II candidacy, Oklahoma Christian won 45 NAIA national championships, including the 2003 and 2012 men’s tennis titles, the 2009 and 2011 men’s golf championships, the 2011 men’s cross country title, and many relay and individual crowns in cross country and track and field. More than 20 of OC's national championships have come in the past four years, including two individual championships in men’s golf.
The university placed in the top 10 in the Directors' Cup national all-sports standings the last three years and annually posts a cumulative GPA of 3.0+ for the entire athletic department.
Oklahoma Christian is home to “The Complete Athlete.” The university is devoted to preparing student-athletes to excel in the athletic arena, in the classroom, in service to the community, and in service to God.
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. (I Corinthians 9:24)
We aspire to win championships. Fueled by that drive, Oklahoma Christian has achieved across-the-board athletic success for half a century. Our athletic programs have flourished thanks to coaches and student-athletes of high talent and high character. Inspired by our past, we seek to become the best we can be as we work together toward our goals.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. (Colossians 3:23)
OC’s balance of strong athletics and academics ranks among the nation’s elite. Our student-athletes’ work ethic and dedication is rewarded each year with national scholar-athlete honors. More importantly, our student-athletes become equipped for successful careers in all walks of life.
Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. (Philippians 2:4)
Oklahoma Christian is committed to making a difference through charitable activities and community outreach. OC student-athletes, coaches and staff members participate in numerous ministries, mission work and service projects each year.
Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isaiah 40:31)
OC’s Christian atmosphere enriches the lives of our student-athletes, brings our teams closer together, and calls us all to a higher standard in our attitudes and actions. God is our guide in both triumph and trouble. We seek to glorify Him in all that we do.
